I would suggest trying different colors then. Use a brown eyeliner and try lighter browns, pinks or peachy colors for eyeshadow. Play around with colors until you find something you like.

try a brown eyeliner or even no liner, but wet your make-up brush just a little then get a purple or bronze color eyeshadow and brush a thin line under your eye like it was eyeliner. it looks pretty but it's not too dark. then start out with a creamy or white shadow and apply all over your eyelid, then use a light taupe color on half of your eyelid, then try a purple on the bottom of your eyelid. purple will look so good with brown eyes. if you want your eye make-up to not look so dark, then don't use liner on top.
hope this helps!

Hi there.
to go more natural is really in right now...good choice!
With really dark eyes I suggest a couple of things. It depends on your skin tone as well. Dark eyes can carry almost any eye shadow color. I love purples and greens accented with golds and cremes. L'Oreal has a new line that features movie and television stars. See if some of these compliment you. Also a wonderful idea is to go a department store and have a makeover. You do not have to purchase products to have a make over.
Good luck and take care!

Use the new line by Almay that play's up brown eyes. The have an eyeshadow trio with a rich purple, mohogany brown, and champagne shade. Then you can line your lids with their purple liner and use their purple mascara. I'm African- American, so I also have VERY dark brown eyes, but this really makes them pop. Hope it helps! And btw, I think Revlon or Covergirl also came out with their own, "play up brown eyes" makeup line.

Try something with pearly, creamy, or white colors, to brighten up the eyes, and then apply black mascara and eyeliner to your eyes to give it a more striking apperance.

Try pastel shades in warm color + baby blue (I think the contrast between light blue and brown eyes is gorgeous!) Other pastel shades to try would be peachy, taupe and pale lavendar.

You wanna make your eyes pop out, so i'd try a medium redish-orangish color (trust me it looks great)
