I love Stephen King's books, and have read numerous ones. The story Misery is one of my favorites. I have a question for those of you that have read Misery before; did King ever go into any detail about the crazy lady Annie's parents, or what happened to them? Did she kill them? I read the book years ago, so I don't remember.

Interesting question... as far as I remember, there weren't allusions to her killing her parents. The only people that she killed were the numerous people in the hospitals that she was caring for... although now that I think about it, were the first of those people her parents? I don't think so but King is a very twisted fella...

In case you haven't read them, other great King novels (from a fellow Misery lover!) are: Needful Things, The Stand, and IT.

I do know that she was living in her parents home, and there were pictures of them on her mantle, but no reference to them. I do notice that mr. king likes to use family themes though. Perhaps strange things happened in his.Maine is a strange and magical place to grow up in. Dark magic as well.
