I hear there's a great tour of the Seattle Underground, Vancouver is about 3 hours away but you won't find anything there that you can't get in Seattle. There's lot's of great clubs etc, pick up a copy of The Stranger at the airport and it should have all the club listings etc.

I did this trip last year. I'm not too much a clubber, so can't help you there, but there's a great promenade market down by the water called Pike Place that is touristy and so great.
I stayed at the Vance Hotel which was really funky and within walking distance of most of the restaurants/clubs downtown.
I thought Vancouver was beautiful, the touristy place there that I loved was a market place under a bridge called Pearson's Pier and Stanley Park was amazing. The view, aquarium, restaurants. It was raining when I went and it was still so breathtaking.
Have a good time!

Sorry; i like edm, not rock, I can't make any recommendations for nightlife. Just walk aroun Pioneer Square though and you'll find something. But do go to Pike's Market downtown, take the Underground Tour, and if you don't mind a 4 hour drive, I've heard Vancouver is really beautiful. Sounds more romantic than exciting, though.
Edit: Actually, here--this may help a little:

Not sure if you're talking Vancouver, WA or Vancouver, BC, but either way you can certainly do a weekend trip to Seattle. If you decide to take the train, you can book hotels right through Amtrak's website. Most travel websites have air & hotel packages rather than the train or bus, but check the major booking sites to see if you can find some good deals on a hotel and book your own train or bus ticket.

There are lots of clubs, but I am not much of an rock club type person. There is a newspaper here called the "Stranger" that lists all the clubs and who is playing. Grab one of those, it has a great listing for the music scene. Below is the link.
There are lots of tours too. The underground, Cruise tours, Mt rainer tours. I would ask your hotel concierge.

Stanley Park in Vancouver is worth the visit. Otherwise, you can go golfing in Seattle.
