No i don't believe that monkeys are kept as pets in New York City, but hey you never know!
People who keep wild animals as pets are sick and wrong. Animals belong in their natural habitat. If you are thinking of buying a monkey, PLEASE DON'T!

I've seen a lady with a little capuchin monkey at the local K-Mart. She keeps it in a baby carrier and it wears baby dresses! I don't know where she got it from, but she did say it cost a couple thousand dollars and acts like a perpetual 2 year old!

no we dot encourage the keeping of monkeys as pets.
we do home grown tomatoes but not monkeys

multiple states in the US raise and breed monkeys. they are kept as household pets

I like the person who said they are called children. I strongly agree with that. Than again its said to be illegal to keep them. But in certain states and conditions you are allowed to have them. It's my favorite animal I should know.

My neighbor has some monkeys. He has his sent to him after they have been captured in the wild.
