She has a toddler, so she probably doesn't get to focus much on herself. Maybe get her something just for her that she wouldn't buy for herself, like a massage, a manicure, a pedicure, some nice perfume, a book she might like, a momento from when you were really close (like a CD of music from the period, a picture).

I like the idea of a gift certificate either for a nice dinner out for her and her husband or consider a movie theatre gift certificate so they can maybe take the little one to a movie as a family outing. I'd also include maybe a framed picture of you and her when you were younger if you have one.

I agree with a gift card to a nice restaurant so her and her husband can have a night out. Or if you want to make it more personal just for her. Send a gift card or a gift certificate to a nail salon or a spa.

Gift cards are great. Make it for a restaurant that they can enjoy alone as a couple cause I'll bet they don't get out much with a toddler.

gift card!! it is always thoughtful - and she can spend it on what she needs. Now you can even get a visa gift card (great can be used in any store...)
if you don't want to send money- what about a gift basket with meats & cheeses
or a nice flower arrangement from ftd

oftentimes, i'd advise a walmart present card so as that the moms and dads can get the youngster some thing they approve of (and obviously you may clarify to them as to it really is the reason you receive them that particularly of an quite toy) or you may look into the walmart cyber web web site for toy thoughts, because they have a "by age" record of the perfect toys to get. i imagine the LeapFrog Little Leaps gadget is the perfect!! its no longer in common words some thing which will save the youngster busy yet some thing that the moms and dads can do to have interaction with them.

How about a very nice silver picture frame? Or nice handmade (cover) scrapbook that she can fill with pictures and mementos of her family and share with you in the future?
