Not sure if it will be a blockbuster but it will have its audience. I for one am looking forward to seeing it. I grew up on that cartoon and if done right, I think the movie will do fine. Everyone I have told about it is excited to see it. This is only one of the 80's animated series coming to the big screen, I just found out they are doing The Smurfs too!

The answer is simple as to why the film will be an enormous bust.
Michael Bay is the director. He is terrible. He directed "Armageddon", "Pearl Harbor", and "The Island", some of the biggest, dumbest action movies ever. Each movie is the same with him. Really cheesy, really corny dialogue, horrendous over-the-top action, and massive budgets for Bay to spend his "genius" on. He is an insult to true action film directors and films, and should never direct again. That is why Transformers will fail.

I've seen some pictures but haven't read the script, so I can't truly say whether it will be a bust. What I've seen of the pictures is that it looks like it will be really good, and that they might have changed the appearance of two characters because the fans raised a stink. (I hope they did, at least. Megs looked completely unrecognizable in his robot form and Starscream looked like a cross between an insect and a gorilla, or so I've heard about him.) In the past, movies that were expected to be great turned out to be stinkers, and movies that looked like they could be stinkers turned out to be great. It may be this turns out to be really cool, like Jurassic Park except with 40 ft. transforming robots. Personally, I know I would like to see it, but to each his own.

When I saw the preview I thought "What a cool movie!" Then it says it's a movie based on the Transformer toys and I couldn't believe it. I don't know if it will be popular or not, but I would see it probably after it comes out for rent.

It will probably be huge. I'm sure McDonalds and the like have a huge marketing gameplan to sell toys associated with the movie. It will be your typical summer blockbuster. That doesn't necessarily make it a good movie.

When Elias on Clerks 2 was talking about it, I thought it was a joke, but you have to know that supernerds everywhere are crapping themselves over this....
