dont drop out!...youve only got what a year or two left....that year or two is going to pass whether you finish high school or not but do you know how much of an advantage you will have if you stick with it?....whats life going to be like if you are uneducated?....you are all you have to depend on in the world because even if someone is there to pick up the pieces of your life if you fall everybody eventually dies!

I'm not sure how old you have to be, but I encourage you to stick it out and get a diploma. You will likely find that any jobs you can find will not pay very well at all if you do not have a diploma, and once you figure that out, it's so much harder to get that diploma later. At the very least you should test out with the GED. If you wait too long to do that, you will find that you will have to go back and relearn many things that you know right now in order to pass the test.

Also consider that while you are in high school you can enroll in some trade school programs (like beauty college) for a cheaper price. Some students that are burned out on school take the bare minimum in classes at their high school and then enroll in beauty college or secretarial/business schools, etc.

Talk to a counselor at your school about options that you may have in your area.

As an educator, I strongly urge you to consider your decision. If you do drop out. Do yo have a plan? And I am not talking about a simple plan, but a plan that is well thought of. If it is school you hate then I can understand, but remember half of the people from high school will mean nothing to you in a couple of years. Whatever you choose I wish you luck.

do not drop out you will regret it the rest of your life. people will think of you as a looser and employers seeing that you didn't complete high school or even when you get a G.E.D. they will hire others before you because if you didn't stick around to finish something as basic as high school how long will you stick around on the job. People who drop out have a harder time doing anything with their lives because they give up too easy. ya high school is hard but if you can't handle that than you will go no where in life and live a life of poverty and depression.

I dropped out of 8th grade for bullying reasons and about two-and-a-half to three years later I went and got me GED - (General Education Degree/Diploma) in less than four months. If you can avoid dropping out, by all means do it, it's not fun trying to get your foot back in the door. I really didn't have chance at school, that's why I dropped out. But, everybody's situation is different. Your reasons are your own, and none of my business, but, if you do drop out, you will have to find a job to balance out the loss of educational skills that you would have been receiving in high school. Plus, many workplaces today tend to take advantage of non high school grads by having those run and fetch coffee and empty waste baskets.

With a high school education, you don't just get the education, you get much more than that, the contacts to get into a college or trade school. Usually people who drop out of high school and want to go to college at a later date find it much more difficult to get time off from their jobs to attend even night courses. So, before you do decide to drop out, consider anything and everything.

Best of luck to you.
J.F.
