I've been out of college for 3 years bouncing from job to job. I spent the past 12 months creating my own business but now I am flat broke and looking for a new job.

I'm not entirely sure what field I want to go into because I had my heart set own being in business for myself. I've got a number of skills and qualifications but I just don't want another job where I'll be stuck in front of a computer screen ready to poke my own eyes out.

Can anyone help shed light on my situation?

The only advice I'd have for you is something I've been told myself many times. You will be most successful at the job you are passionate about. Start by asking yourself what you'd enjoy doing. What kind of business did you want to own? Is it possible you could work for someone else in that line of business until you've saved up enough to try again?

What type of business can you see yourself doing? Try getting into that field now and get some experience. I started a business at age 29, but it took seven years to get enough experience. I also had partners to share the responsibility and the struggle. Twelve years later and three of the four partners gone, the two remaining partners have a successful consulting firm.

Get a job in corporate-but build your business while you're there. Don't lose sight on why you are there and don't get content with the paycheck security. Save as much as you can. Remember when you start your business again, to only invest in the essentials and build as you grow your clientele and profits.

Most colleges have career services departments that will help you even after you graduate. They can help you find tests that may open your options and help you figure out what you want to do now.

Try to get in with a large company - because when you get bored with your current job - you are able to transfer to another position in the company.
