I know of a girl just like that she was a doctor's daughter and a roman catholic. She was shunned by her family. She told us that Islam made the most sense to her. She felt that Islam gave her the most peace and offered her the closest relationship with God. She said it was a very easy religion to understand and all her questions could be answered in a logical fashion unlike Christianity. Also, she went to Islam on her own since Muslims do not have missionaries and it is not in their religion to convert anyone. Hope that answers your question from her point of view!

EVERY human, through the gift of life, has the ability to make FREE CHOICE -- the Free Choice on how to live their lives, to choose the path they wish to take, the job that they wish to have, use the skills that they were given (or not), and the freedom to choose which religion to follow (if they so choose).

Just because someone chooses openly to covert to another -- it may answer some questions that have lingered in the back of their minds for some time, and give them a comfort/peace or guiding light for the rest of their lives, or provide some way to help them deal with personal situations in the here and now.

What I worry about mostly is those who covert for dubious reasons -- because they were pressured to (by someone that they think they love), by a spouse, or are forced in some way to think that way -- brainwashing, stockholm syndrome, whatever) -- for that is not a free choice -- that free choice is taken away from them and they have NO OTHER OPTIONS -- a very limiting life, and one without The HOPE that Free Choice entails.

So instead of condemning an individual for making a choice, we need to RESPECT the choice of her (and EVERY ONE ELSE) who chooses what religion (faith/or none!) to follow - because they are trying to find their way in life, and if it is a comfort to them, and they are truly faithful -- then this can be one of the blessings that they will have now and in the years to come.

For the fool that says that Christianity has 12 different books and men molesting children, you're an ignorant moron! You may be talking about Catholicism and generalize. I am not Catholic. I'm Protestant. Why don't you look at all the hypocrisy and corruption in the so-called islamic world? Now, I'm not talking about the good ones. Often, in islam, the religion is used to exploit women. Why are men allowed to have many wifes or harems? This sh-- is only used to satisfy their selfish pig lust. There is nothing right about it. My husband is Muslim and says that most Muslims don't do this, only the very rich ones or the ones in power. In Iran, these so-called pigs are taking 12 year old girls or younger ones as their sexual servants. Why don't you reflect on that before you open your stupid mouth? You are probably the first one to satisfy your lust and the least of the righteous ones. I hate your hypocrisy!

Well, Tom Cruise converted to Scientology from Catholicism. Countess celebrities convert to Kabbala. Other to Judaism like Elizabeth Taylor. Some to Islam, KRSNA consciousness, others to born again Christianity.

I don't understand why people think someone converting to islam is so wrong. The way you phrased your question, it made it seem as though she became a prostitue or something. Why does anyone become religious? of any faith? To me, personally, each religion is as ridiculous as the next, but if that religion gives her peace of mind, and leads her to be a better person, then why shouldn't she?

Because she was actually intelligent and chose to follow a religion which actually made sense and didn't have 12 different books to choose from or doesn't have its religious leaders molesting children.

Truth be told, one's physical characteristics or their place of residence has nothing to do with which religion one embraces.
