Probably any petstore! Guppies are very common and usually very beautiful and very inexpensive.

Please make sure that you cycle your tank before getting your guppies!

Any pet store really, they are quite a common fish.

They are really easy to keep and good breeders. I started off with Guppies. Generally when I buy fish like that I normally pick out brightly coloured males and females with good shape which are already pregnant ( I know I will have a lot more fish coming from the single female ). You can then pick out the best male(s) and female(s) segregate them so they breed together because you like the characteristics of both and will end up with young who will generally have both the characteristics and be even better. It is amazing watching them give birth too. I would suggest if you do think about breeding to get 3 females for every male. If you do want fish to breed but can't segregate them, you can get a plastic plant which is about 6" by 6" and very dense, the young fry are able to hide safely in it without being eaten by bigger adult fish.

First of all, which country you are in?

Singapore is among the biggest guppies exporting country in the world.

Here you can get guppies as low as 10 cent to $15 each, in Singapore dollar.

if you want dirt cheap. Look for feeder guppies in a fish store. They're not the fancy type and are smaller but i think they're pretty still. They look like wild guppies.

it think a dozen for $1.

Never buy from walmart! They usually are sick with something!

Petsmart or petco. Even a Small local pet shop.

Don't buy from anywhere if you see lots of dead fish in the tanks or disease.

go to a fish only store.. they have much larger selections than those at wal-mart or petsmart, also at about 1/2 the price.

WalMart, they usually have a nice selection, plus they seperate the males from the females so you know the difference and pick out the ones that you want.
