It's very possible that you might be pregnant. However, I'm sure your doctor suggested that you wait atleast 6 weeks after the miscarriage to try to conceive. This is important for your body to reject any impurities in the uterus. My suggestion is for you to go get a blood test at your doctor's office. If the result is negative, buy a cleansing drink and take it. Also, if you are trying to get pregnant, you might want to get a headstart on prenatal vitamins. This will help insure that your body has all the vitamins it needs to nurish a fetus. Good luck and GOD bless you.

Well...first of all, you should have waited a little bit longer before having sex. When you have a miscarriage your uterus becomes very vulnerable to infection. Second...you should wait at least until you recieve your first if not second period before trying to concieve again. One reason is because you should let your hormones get back to normal (which takes 4-6 weeks) before becoming pregnant and throwing them out of whack again so soon. Another reason is that you really should give yourself a little bit of time to heal emotionally from the miscarriage. I miscarried triplets at 15 weeks last December. We concieved again within a few months and are now 35 weeks along with a very healthy and active baby girl....but I really needed that little bit of time to emotionally recoop. Also, I didn;t get my first period until about 6 weeks after the miscarriage. And then after that one, my cycle was still a bit off for a couple of months.
There is a chance that you could be pregnant again..but if not, you really should wait a few more weeks.
I do wish you the best of luck though! Good things come to those who wait!
Good luck!

To answer the question, "could I be pregnant:" yes, you could.

That said, however, your cycle is typically going to be rather out of whack following a miscarriage. Following a miscarriage, a woman might get her next period at the expected time. Or, it might take a few months. You also did not say how far along you were at the time you miscarried, which will also have a bearing on your body's recovery.

I'm very sorry about your miscarriage. I hope you find yourself healthily pregnant soon.

Take the test and see - its quite possible though, I got pregnant quite quickly after my miscarriage and I don't know if its an old wives tale but I was told that women became extra fertile after a miscarriage as if to make up for it (more likely a rush of hormones), a bit like when you come off the pill and you are super fertile (supposedly) for a month or two. good luck with trying for a baby, hope it happens for you soon!!

Hi,
I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and 6 weeks later I tested positiive for another pregnancy, apparently conception is sometimes easier after a miscarriage! My Dr was very negative about the whole thing, luckily I wasnt & now the result is sleeping soundly next to me, he is 16 months old & perfect, dont be disheartened & good luck.

It can sure happen. I miscarried at 10 weeks at the end of May, and was pregnant again the very next cycle, just a few weeks later. I was due in December of this year before the miscarraige; I'm now due in mid-March. Two pregnancies back to back like this can stress your body. Make sure you take prenatal vitamins until you find out for sure, on top of eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of fluids and rest; a lot of problems for the baby can develop in the first few weeks of development, such as neural tube disorders (like spina bifida), and if your body is deficient because of the first pregnancy, you could be at a higher risk with this new one. Good luck.

I'm sorry for your loss.

There is a possibility that you are pregnant. Sometimes miscarriage can delay ovulation though so it might take longer to get pregnant again.

After my miscarriage my doctor told me to wait at least six months before trying again so that I could rebuild my iron stores. I also did not have a normal miscarriage. I hemorrhaged and had to have a blood transfusion. So this may not be the case for you.

Good luck to you!

yes you could be pregnant. I had a miscarriage/DNC in Nov 04 and never had a period-I took a test in Dec 04 and I was pregnant. I miscarried again in January and then got pregnant in Feb 05. I had my son in Oct. 05. I would either take a test or go see your doctor. Good Luck!

My sister got pregnant straight away after having a miscarriage - i.e. before she got a normal period. She went on to have a lovely baby boy.
Good luck.

I miscarried at 7 weeks and your body really is not back on track until 3 to 4 menstrual periods. My infertility doc says to wait until after that to start trying!
