I wore heals once in my pregnancy. I've never liked heels much anyway but I was part of a wedding party and bridezilla ordered my shoes for me with no input from me. (They were also dyed an awful bubble gum pink, which gave me all the more reason to hate them)

I was six months pregnant and my balance was off. I ended up falling down three or four stairs. Everyone freaked. My baby and I were both okay but as soon as the ceremony was over I went and put my sandals on. They were about two inch heels.

If you want to wear them go ahead. Just keep in mind that your center of gravity will be off. Also in late pregnancy, women's pelvises relax so the babies head can fit through it. It makes walking difficult anyway. Walking in heels would be next to impossible.

Models in pregnancy magazines aren't walking either. They're sitting still so that they can have their picture taken. After their photo shoot is over they put on normal shoes like every other pregnant woman.

You can wear heels. The warning is for your own safety. I wore medium and low heels (not higher than 2 1/2 inches) during most of my pregnancy. As everyone else has said, you are clumsier during pregnancy, and heels do nothing for your balance. The third trimester is a time for sneakers and flip flops, as those are the only things that fit, and maybe not even sneakers, as they are too hard to tie! I actually had a problem with flat shoes during the 1st and 2nd trimester, they made me trip all the time. Do whatever makes you comfortable, don't worry about fashion.

It is not so much that you can't, it is because it is really uncomfortable. High heels during pregnancy puts a lot of stress on your back, ankle and you feet. It was about 20 weeks when I called it quits with the heels, I could barely walk in them and it hurt to much.

You shouldn't (specification!) wear heels after your first trimester because you risk damaging your arches and back. Your body's center of gravity and musculature are too warped by the pregnancy to be able to effectively support your body while in heels for any extended period of time. When the back goes out, then the stress is placed on the stomach muscles--already strained by the baby--and that could cause these to spread, preventing your abdominals from being able to bounce back effectively after the pregnancy.

That's silly. Wear heels... just make sure they're not REALLY high. It's more of a risk of losing your balance and falling than anything else. And at the end of your pregnancy, your center of gravity changes, so it's probably not a great idea at that time. For me, I am so swollen that I can't fit into my cute heels anymore! LOL!!

The reason we're told to say No to heels in Pregnancy is our center of balance of off. We're clumbsy and often are caught tripping over our bare feet. It is dangerous for a pregnant woman to fall so as soon as the belly pops out is is best to stick with flat shoes.

You can wear them if they're still comfortable for you to wear. Also later in your pregnancy as you become clumsier and off balance you may want to consider switching to flats. You don't want to be falling and breaking anything, especially the baby.
I stopped wearing heels and all my cool shoes about 3 months as my feet would swell throughout the day. But if you are one of those who don't have a swelling problem them more power to ya!
This a.m. I had to fight the urge just to go to work in my house slippers lol. I know attractive, right. Not to mention professional. So I opted for my slip ons w/ socks, it looks stupid buy my feet are warm.

The only problem with it is that your equilibrium is off when you get bigger, and you are more likely to fall, heels or no heels, which can be dangerous to the baby. If you are someone who wears heels often and is pretty graceful, you'll probably have no issues. Just be careful.

I wore heels when I was pregnant with my first child, I wore them through the whole pregnancy and I think the only effect I had was swollen ankles, but I has that with my second pregancy and I work flats most of that pregnancy.
