Only under a court order such as a divorce decree would you owe maintenance to your ex-partner. If you were not married, she'd have a very tough time seeking "palimony" unless you're a famous celebrity.

Support payments for the child are another issue. It's based on the number of children, the income of the parties & capped at a certain percentage. It varies from state to state.

what do you mean do you have to pay maintenance, if you bought a child into this world with her then it is your duty to help bring up your child financially and emotionally. no matter what has happened between you two you still have a responsibility to the child, after all she will be the one caring for the child, it doesn't hurt you to help

You have a financial duty to your child but not to it's mother. Often calculated at 20% of your wage
