check the format
are they mp3 format etc
would suggest load the song to itunes which converts songs auto to mp3s and then dump them to ipod...
but for that set ur ipod to manual synchronization.

If you have an iPod that allows you to make playlists on your iPod maybe you have created a playlist and that is actually what you are listening to? If not, Try going to the apple website. They have a great help section. I was having troubles with mine and thought I bought a faulty iPod but it turned out that I was just missing a step. : ) Go to apple.com then go to the iPod + iTunes tab and on that page all the way at the bottom is a support link. click on that. And on that page you can do some looking around and ask questions. Good Luck!

If you are driving your iPod from a P.C.(Windows based computer) then you may experience problems!
Firstly,Back up your iTunes!(Preferably an external hard drive or write to DVD)
Then strip out your Current iTunes(iTunes is Currently running O/S 7) .
Import back your backed-up Music-then connect your iPod back to your Computer with a Fresh Copy of iTunes.
Click refresh-This should cure it!
Alternatively you may have a Faulty(One of the Recognized batch of iPods that is!).
If it does the same again-Return iPod with Documents to retailer or Apple Store(Apple are Great with Warranty issues!)

Do they show up in the list? Did you restore the ipod with the most up to date software? I have found mine will sometimes skip over certain songs for whatever reason. I would try restoring it with the software and see what happens if you haven't already.

Do your songs all play fine on the PC? If they do then it might be a copyright protection thing, some CDs (rare annoying ones) don't rip to AAC or MP3. This only applies if you're using iTunes though.

huh, thats strange. Are you getting your songs from a CD or are you getting them from iTunes? Because somtimes when you try to get a song from one of your personal CDs it doesnt always go threw. Other then that, it should work if you are getting the songs from iTunes.com
