Why would you want to delete the recycle bin? It is a safety feature. If you delete something by mistake you can find it there unless you have emptied it. You can set a maximum size and first in will be deleted first as it fills.

First, why would you wish to do this? They Recycle Bin provides a very needed way to retrieve items deleted in mistake, or just if we realize we need it after all. However, the answer is actually no, you can't actually delete the recycle bin from your system.

With that said, you can manage it in such a way as to make it very minimal in usage. You can manage how much disk space it uses, you can bypass it in deleting items by holding down Ctrl and then the Delete button on your keyboard, you can stop the message "do you really want to delete this item?", or whatever words it uses as I shut it off myself. When I know for a fact I don't want or need a certain file, I just delete it directly with the above key combination and bypass the recycle bin entirely. I also have reduced the amount of space which is allocated to holding items in it. Just right click on the icon and select properties, on the tab which comes up set the amount of space you want it to use. I have a very large hard drive, and do not often remove items so I set mine at 3%. This way when it gets full, the older items are delted to make room for incoming items. I don't have to go in and actually "empty" it manually. It just stays "full" but will empty older items as newer ones are placed in it. I actually don't have it at full as I use the direct method of deletion and bypass it completely.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Do you mean empty the contents of the recycle bin? If so just right click the icon on your desktop and select empty. Surely you wouldnt want to delete the whole recycle bin would you? I do not recommend doing that.

Delete recycle bin?
Why?
I experienced W93 when there was no recycle bin.
When something was gone it was gone.
Maybe it could be restored maybe not. Most times not.
And that took some working in DOS.

If it ain't broke....don't fix it.:):)

Not easy, and requires a 'registry hack' something only experts should attempt. Why would you want too in the first place? For help see; http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1156264302

No. It is a system folder. You can empty it, however. Right-click on it, and select "empty recycle bin."

I WOULDN'T EMPTY THE WHOLE RECYCLE BIN. THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING IN THERE YOU NEED.
I WOULD CHECK TO SEE WHATS IN THER FIRST.
THEN GO TO YOUR RECYCLE BIN ICON, RIGHT CLICK IT AND PRESS EMPTY.
BUT BE VERY CAREFUL
