my 6 month old is gassy all all day!!!! He is breastfed and Im a diet which I try very much to go by etc.. no dairy, eggs ......
he is also arching his back and lifting up hes tummy very often and it looks like his in pain.
Could it be his immune system is low and has nothing to do with my diet?
anyone familiar with this?

My son had the same thing when he was a baby. Its simply gas...try giving him Mylicon drops before he eats and after he's done make sure he stays sitting up for about 10minutes...after that try to burp him. If he is starting on solids then that could be another reason...he may just not be adjusting well to a certain food....either discontinue the food thats causing it or continue the Mylicon drops with his feedings.

My daughter had that for a while I had to give her gas drops in her bottle and sit in a very dim lighted room with no sound. That was the only thing that would sooth her. So I sat in my bedroom in bed and held her watching the subtitles on the tv for about 8 hours a day. Very very boring but it was worth it to see her more comforterable. Good luck

Try using OTC gas drops. This will usually take care of the prolem, if it doesn't call the Dr. he can give you futher advise. The baby may even be slightly colicy. You say it looks like he is in pain ~ if he truly was he would probably cry.

Some veggies can cause gas - broccoli is a big culprit, a friend of mine had to give it up while she was breastfeeding because it bothered the baby so much. Cabbage might do it, too - ask the dr.

Some babies are just gassy. Buy some gas drops for him.

I agree.. I'm a mother of five... buy the otc gas drops... they work and your baby will be happier.

Why not try gas medicine for babies? It might just make him feel alot better.

SOUNDS LIKE COLIC. I WOULD CALL THE BABBES DOCTOR AND SEE IF YOU CAN GIVE HIM MYCILAN DROPS! THEY HELP GASSY BABIES.
