I think that you need to be more stern when you talk to them. The ibuprofen is good for inflamation but it sounds like you need something more than just that. I would tell them again if they don't listen go to the ER and tell them. I hate when they don't listen, it just makes the experience a really bad one. In the mean time rest and maybe some heat like a shower or a pad may help until you can get something.

Oh you better believe I'd ring the phone off the hook until they gave me something to actually take the pain away. All iburprofen does is reduce swelling. I've had 3 kids and everytime I got some pain pills without question. You deserve it, especially with the ordeal with your placenta not coming out like it should. Ouch!! Yeah definitley keep calling your doctor until they listen and realize you're in PAIN

Alot of the time they will only give you perscription pain meds if you had a c-section. I had the same thing delivering my placenta with my thiird child, it wasn't pleasnat I know, has your doctor recommened a silts bath, you will have discomfort for a few weeks, If you think that you cannot function with out some stronger pain meds make an appointment to see your doctor.

I think I would go with what others said, as well, and let them know that the ibuprofen is not cutting it..and be honest and tell them you would like to try something else.
Also keep in mind, though, that healing takes time and it may very well be that any med won't take away the pain 100%...just curb it to where you can be comfortable and not dying over it.
Let me tell ya.....I had a hell of a time when I tore with my daughter...OMG...that sucked BIG TIME, but it took time to heal (and LOTSSSS of Tucks pads!! LOL!)

DO NOT ever give a cat any kind of human medication. Even in small doses it can be toxic to cats. There are very few types of pain medication that even Vets can prescribe because cats are so sensitive. If your cat is not able to use her hind end you need to go to an emergency hospital as soon as possible. Cats are not like dogs where they can go down in their hind end because of arthritis. When cats lose use of limbs there is usually something serious going on.

you shouldn't have that much pain. I think you should go in so that they can check you out.
When I had my second, I kept complaining of the pain and (eventually) very heavy periods. They kept telling me it was normal (I knew it wasn't). When they finally saw me 6 months later, I was diagnosed with chronic endometritis, an infection that develops after childbirth.
You absolutely have to INSIST on being seen.

When that happened to me (I had a really bad forceps delivery) I called the doctor and told him that the Ibuprofen was not cutting it and he prescribed percocet for me.

Don't be afraid to ask for more. I had a c-section and needed more percocet too...they gave me a script for it and I ended up only needing it about 3 more days anyway, but I was sure glad I had it!

Call them back if it is not working then you need to either bear the pain or see if you can get something stronger.
