Xbox 360 Resolution?

Could someone tell me if the problems the Xbox 360s are having are due to trying to run the games on the 1080p option on a 1080p monitor or running any resolution on a1080p monitor. If I ran the xbox on my 1080p montitor but didnt select 1080p of the console would it work?

I have mime set on 1080p and it works great. Make sure you have clicked the HD switch on your HD cord at the back of your 360 to HD or it may not work.

just bang on it a few times then it should work
