Great Question!
Actually, I was in 5th grade. We were learning about the cold war and the 11th hour clock to indicate how close we were to a nuclear war with Russia. It was the 70's. We were told that it was likely to happen in 1980. I was distraught at first and then mad because that was the year I was getting my driver's license. Aren't hippie teachers great? Scare the kids with your political agenda!
When I was 21, I was swimming in water over my head, inhaled some water due to big waves, and the moment just before coughing it out, I had "my life flash before my eyes". It was only a couple of seconds, but it felt like hours. A true reality check.

2 specific moments stand out
1. A tour of Northern Ireland - HM Forces - and a particular incident that I will not expand upon
2. A vehicle crash in SW Africa in the middle of nowhere
I survived both and I am a better person for having experienced both - keeps you on your toes

I waw about 5 or 6. I went to a christian school my whole life..Everything was about preparing your soul for death. I am not normal today because of all the fears that were placed upon me as a child.

I think I always knew that someday I would die. When I was a kid though I used to think that everyone lived to be 100. So I remember thinking when I was 5 that I only had 95 more years to live! That used to worry me.
