Are you happy? There is nothing wrong with your situation? If a piece of paper is going to make that much difference to you ..... you are probably not in the right relationship...
Most states already would consider you his common wife if you have lived togother for more than 7 years.

Depends upon how happy I was.
At 10 years, your relationship is now common law, with you and your children having every right to his estate and financial support you would have if you were married. If he were to dessert you, he would be responsible for child support as if he were married to you. And in most states, you could get alimony, and one half of your assessed financial investments, (house, car etc.)If the certificate is a deal-buster, then make it an issue. If it is not, leave it.

Well, if you're satisfied with the arrangement, then you do nothing. If you're wanting to be married, and he won't even consider marriage, you've got a big decision to make. You're going to have to either get rid of the guy, or give up on your desire to be married. Only you can make that decision too. Best of luck.

What would be the point of marriage? Depending on what state you live in the government may view you as legally married as a common law marriage.

Either get used to being in a common law marriage. or move on to find someone who wants to get married because it's obvious
this guy doesn't want to.

See an attorney. He can file the necessary child support papers so you can collect money. Kick the loser out and move on with your life. After ten years tell him the milk is no longer free.

A bit late to think about that now, isn't it?
Either put up with it, or leave it. Your choice. And, either way, he should be paying for the support of the kids.
