He did not get what he deserved or what he was actually sentenced to. Manson was given a death sentence but the Supreme Court overturned the California death penalty statutes that were in place that that time. His sentence was then converted to a life sentence. A jury representing the people of California said he should die. He has gotten much less than he deserved.
And, my children will not grow up to be like him. My children were not illegitimate and were not abandoned by their mother at an early age. My children haven't dropped out of school. My children have not grown up in juvenile homes, county jails, etc. My children have responsible, caring parents.

Hold on a second here...we need to go back and review the history of Charles Manson and what he did. Yes, he ordered the attack on the home of Roman Polanski that left Sharon Tate and several others dead, but after that attack he told his followers that the job they had done was "too sloppy" and then gave them a real-life demonstration on how it should be done by killing the LaBiancas himself. So for starters, Charles Manson is guilty of two counts of murder with aggravating circumstances (torture). Secondly, because he was the one who ordered and orchestrated the murder at the Polanski estate, he's also guilty of conspiracy to commit murder with aggravating circumstances (again, torture). The argument of free will vs. brainwashing aside, he's still guilty and still deserves the death sentence he was given.

Come on! He ordered those followers to kill innocent lives, even a unborn child. He is completely NUTS, there is nothing stain about him. He just rambles on and on like a crazy guy. He was a coward, he could not carry out the acts by himself that's why he made his followers believe that it had to be done. Tax payers have been paying way to long for him just to sit in jail and riot away. His punishment was not enough as far as I'm concerned. Its time to say nightie night to him!

Even if you were to not hold him accountable for the Tate murders he still was culpable in the La Bianca murders. Manson actually went in and subdued and bound the LaBiancas. He is also directly implicated in the Shorty Shea and Gary Hinneman murders.

Charles Manson did not get what he deserved, he deserved the death sentence, we should not still be paying tax dollars to feed and keep him alive all these years. He controlled those young girls minds through drugs and sex and got them to kill for his ideals, not theirs. Those girls are also still in prison and even though they have turned their lives around and have paid their debt to society, they most likely will never get out of prison. Charles Manson deserved to die!!

He was the mastermind of those horribles killings and in my opinion what he deserve it was the death penalty. That's what bothers me about California that it is so famous for its nuts. We can find many murderers in jail who have committed the most horrendous crimes and the American citizens we are still paying for their food bill and others expenses. They rarely execute one of those in the so called death row. That never happens in Texas. There is so sad to hear your voice saying that they were just a group of followers and he gave them the order, he planned, and he not just destroyed peoples life's of those who they were killed, he destroyed his followers life's as well. Think about it. Think in those families that were left in pain. Think in that unborn baby who was still in his mother womb. Do you think that Sharon Tate deserved that? Use your brain and think harder.

what you mean prison?
Manson may not have directly killed those people, but he might as well have. The entire Family deserves to be locked behind bars for life.

He planned it all. that is participation for murder. Yes, he needs to be a way from society, because he is not right in the head. He still talks weird about things. But, his real judgment will be after death.
