Not me personally but it happens.
The biggest reason is missing pills or taking them late. It is even more important with low dose pills to take them at the same time every day.
I don't think there is evidence of the pill harming a fetus but you should stop taking them as soon as you know you are pregnant.
Antibiotics are the most common drug that interacts with birth control pills and makes them less effective. I think St. Johns wart also makes them less effective. I wouldn't take anything without checking with the doctor if it will interfere with the birthcontrol.
Depending on the dose of the pill something as simple as vomiting or having diarrea can get the pill out of your system too quickly for it to do any good and you have to keep that in the back of your mind too. Especially if you have been sick for several days.
Good luck,
Tricia

Yes I got preg on the pill. I took it religeously and the same time everyday!! There is a small percent of people that do get preg on the pill! It can harm the baby in a very small way from my understanding usually just the birth weight as long as you find out right away and stop taking the pill. I have heard that it can cause a miscarriage but i don't know for sure!

Yes, I got pregnant while on the pill and have a 20 year old son to show for it. I don't think I took it at exactly the same time everyday but I did take it everyday. Since I was taking the pill and didn't know I was pregnant, I would say the effects would be minimal as my son turned out fine. However, a medical practioner needs to be consulted with these concerns including your concerns about other medications.

I was on the pill for several years. I missed ONE pill and got pregnant. I took the remainder of the month's pills before I knew I was pregnant - my doctor said not to worry.
Antibiotics can lessen the effectiveness of the pill and conversely, there are medications, such as anti-seizure meds that are negatively impacted by the pill.

I got pregnant on the pill. I was taking it correctly, but was on antibiotics. The pill will not harm your baby if you are taking it while you don't know you are pregnant. My doc said it just gives you things that you don't need and will not hurt the baby. However, it shouldn't be taken all throughout the pregnancy obviously. If you suspect pregnancy, take a test so you can ditch the pills. The medication I was taking when I got pregnant on the pill was Macrobid...a medication for a bladder infection.

I know someone who has. Antibiotics will cancel out the pill, so always use alternative birth control if taking any antibiotics.
I did get pregnant though less than 2 wks after stopping the pill which I had been on for 5 yrs.

I haven't but my friend has with every one of her pregnancy's. She says she took her pills regular. With her 1st she was given antibiotics (probably why the pill didn't work). She is preg. with #3 now. She wasn't taking anything but the pill when she got preg. with the last 2. Her doctor has switched the kind of pills she takes over the years and it hasn't helped. She still ends up preg.

My sister in law got pregnant on the pill. She took it like she was supposed to. The baby is now almost 5 and fine. It just happens sometimes.

I were at the tablet for six years and feature been dwelling with my boyfriend for three years, so take into account that I used to be very suprised whilst I learned.
