One of the reasons I think sharks should not be fish are because of just the looks. This doesnt sound very logical but sharks and fish arent very similar. Also just becaue they have gills doesnt make them a fish. There are some types of salamanders that have gills but that doesnt make them a fish. The scales on the sharks are different from the ones on a fish, they are rough and resemble small teeth. As you can see there are many differences between the two.I may only be in eigth grade but im pretty smart.

Sharks are fishes and most have the typical fusiform body shape. Like other fishes, sharks are ectothermic (cold-blooded), live in water, have fins, and breathe with gills. However, sharks differ from Osteichthyes fish. One difference is that a shark's skeleton is made of cartilage instead of bone. Another visible difference is that bony fish tend to have a single gill slit, whereas all but two species of shark have 5 gill slits.
Here is the scientific breakdown:
COMMON NAME: sharks
KINGDOM: Animalia
PHYLUM: Chordata
CLASS: Chondrichthyes
SUBCLASS: Elasmobranchii
SUPERORDER: Selachii

There are two distinct separates divisions of fish: The bony fishes, or Osteichthyes, are fishes with a skeleton made out of bone. They are the largest group amongst the fishes, and include the common fish like tuna, salmon, gold fish ect.. The other side of the fish family are the cartilaginous fishes, or Chondrichthyes. This is the family that includes sharks, skates, and rays. Because both breath using gills, they are considered fish. Mammals like whales and dolphins, although they do swim like fish, are not fish because they have lungs like humans do, and nurse their young on milk.

All sharks are fish, including Whale sharks (why wouldn't they be???)
Sharks are hatched from eggs, they have gills, they have fins, they swim, they are vertebrate (cartilaginous)... There are some differences between other fish types and sharks, but not so much that they would be in a different Class.
A hedgehog and dolphin is very different from a human and yet are all mamals.

Well...Ofcourse they are fish. I think that one of the main things that determines the fish or no fish argument is the fact that Sharks have gills...Sharks belong to the group of cartilagenous fish, the Elasmobranchii, that includes the sharks

Sharks are considered fish. They may not seem like it, but they are. It's because they have gills and cannot breath air. Their tails go side-to-side when they swim instead of up and down like whales. Most species of shark don't give birth to live young and the young do not need parental guidance when they hatch. They simply fend for themselves. Quite unmammal like.
