I have suffered with IBS for years and have never heard of vomitting associated with it. But I'd go see the dr. if I were you, you never know it just may be IBS after all. I found a link for you that lists the signs and symptoms of IBS so have a look and good luck - I hope you feel better and get it resolved.

Sounds like IBS to me but you should get it diagnosed by a doctor before taking any over the counter medication.
If it is IBS you need to figure out what the trigger is such as stress. You may also find that changing your diet will relieve alot of the symtoms including the cramps. Try cutting down on caffiene, cheese, milk etc. I tried it and saw a huge improvement.

Bowel problems are hard to diagnose and all those symptom are common to many possible problems.
See your GP who will refer you to a specialist in Gastro Intestinal Medicine. A few procedures later and you should have a diagnosis but in the meantime try not to worry too much. Drink plenty of water and eat healthily. Try and make notes of what food you eat to see if there are any connections etc.
Procedures and attitudes have improved greatly in this field over the years and I hope you get it resolved soon.

They're starting to recommend that people with IBS, or IBS-like symptoms be tested for celiac disease, which is an intolerance to gluten (wheat, rye, barley and oats). A lot of people with celiac were misdiagnosed as having IBS for years. (18 years for me). It takes an average of 11 years for a person with celiac to be diagnosed.
Here's a webpage by the National Institutes of Health on celiac -
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/celiac/
If that starts sounding familiar here are a couple of message boards for people with celiac and other gluten intolerances.
www.glutenfreeforum.com
www.celiacforums.com
You can also be intolerant to other common foods and get the symptoms you are describing. Soy, corn, eggs, yeast, dairy, etc. You may want to think about keeping a food/symptoms journal and see if you can identify the culprit(s).

It is a diagnosis of exclusion meaning thereby that when we don't find any problem in gastrointestinal system or in the body as whole we make this diagnosis. If u never had any blood in stool, u are not loosing weight, u don't have to wake up at night to pass stool, it is likely that you suffer from IBS.

Yes. A classic case. My doctor put me on tablets that did not help at all. I now take magnesium trisilicate and it has helped.
You had better have it checked though because it could be the start of Crohn's disease, which is much more serious but can be kept under control.
