I don't think it's fair that he's allowed to have a shot at breaking the record. It may not be completely proven that he used steroids, but anyone with common sense knows you don't just go from a stick to bulk like that, and his lame excuses, the investigation, it was a full-blown scandal, that's proof enough for you...he used steroids, end of story. And if he breaks that record, it will tarnish the integrity of the game.

Yeah, Bonds never failed a drug test, because he was using steroids back when there were no drug test required...if you want to defend him and say he didn't use steroids, go ahead. But just look at the facts and they will tell you a different story. Let me tell you, I'm a diehard Cardinals fan, and I used to have so much respect for McGwire, until he too was exposed as a cheater, that's a hard strike to take when a player you like so much that's on your favorite team turns out to be a fraud. There may never be concrete evidence that these guys used steroids, but all you have to do is just look at the facts and use your common sense, and the truth becomes clear.

1 - I really really dont think its fair that he gets to come back and break a record that will never EVER rightfully be his. This record will always be Hank Aarons until someone like Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols or Ryan Howards breaks it.
2 - I was really hoping no one was going to sign him.
3 - I think its bad for the game. He will continually get booed everywhere on the road and if he breaks Aarons record on the road, and they stop the game for a celebration, whatever stadium it is will start launching garbage onto the field.

Bonds' agent, Jeff Boris, did his job well. I can't believe the Giants thought they had to spend $17-20 million to keep Barry. There was very little interest in the 42 yr old throughout MLB. I felt anyone could have signed him for a little more than Piazza got ($8mil).
Furthermore, I don't think there is any guarantee that he'll break the record this year. What are the Giants gonna do if he only hits 20HR this year? Sign him again for another $17 million?

It comes right down to who can clean their call. What we are able to under no circumstances know is while steroid use started. Does it circulate farther back than the ninety's? 80's? 60's? What started steroid use? while replaced into it first got here upon to augment information of athletes? i don't think of it would make quite distinction if those are super gamers. truly, they shortened their existence span to furnish leisure for people like us, whilst additionally offering for his or her families while they'll not be alive, much less waiting to play. do not punish the previous, crack down on the instant and the destiny, not something hurts any time-honored individual, team, or recreation like bitter grapes and going after all the folk interior the previous that weren't caught till now's basically bitter grapes. you recognize what's incorrect now, crack down on the now, enforce the now, and circulate on.

I don't like Barry Bonds. Yes, he's a cheater. Unfortunately, until they can prove it, he's going to get the records, and he's going to get into the hall of fame based off of those records. Barry is in the same category for me with Albert Belle. Good bats, good stats, but cheaters. Whether it's with Albert's corked bad or Barry's HGH, cheaters.

If thats what he wants to do thats fine. He is just going after the record, but in my opinion the record will still belong to Hank in my eyes because of the steroid issue. If I was a team owner I would sign him too just for the fact he can sell tickets so fans can see him break the record.

The great thing about our justice system is that you are perceived to be innocent until proven guilty. He's never been proven guilty. That being said the majority of Americans believe he's as guilty as sin but to the owners of the SF Giants this is all money in the bank. Of course he resigned with the Giants. No one else wanted that cheating miserable excuse for a human being!
The saddest thing about his return to the Giants for another year is that he will probably break Hammering Hank Aaron's HR record and MLB will probably make it a special occasion.
I think I'll be sick.

I just hope he falls 1 short of tieing the record, right as soon as he gets beamed by a 100 mph fastball in his knee and shatters his knee cap and tendons. Kinda harsh, but that's what a cheater deserves for taking something that isn't earned.
We don't let positive tested athletes keep their metal why should bonds have that title as home-run king. Anyone who keeps say it's just alleged need to take a good dose of denial and wash it down with a "realist perspective."
Despite my wish Bonds would pay his entire life's worth to fix that knee and some club somewhere would give him a league minimum and he'd hit two HR's and retire like a chump.

If the Giants want to pay that much money for an injury-prone, arrogant, possible cheater, all the power to him. He wants the HR record and will most likely get it if his knees hold out. But Hank Aaron will still be the drug-free homerun king.

Bonds just wants enough at bats to get the home run lead; what a cheater. Let SF have him.

i dont much care for bonds, and those feelings existed long before the balco/steroids stories surfaced.
i hope that bond's knees or elbow keeps him off the field enough that he doesnt break hammering hanks homerun record.
