Headers replace the stock exhaust manifolds which usually condense all 8 of the exhaust ports to one pipe in a short distance. Headers have separate pipes for each exhaust port running back to a collector farther from the engine creating a better flow of exhaust gases through the system. The noise level of the exhaust may be higher depending on the chosen muffler system but headers usually will increase performance and fuel mileage.

Headers are a big improvement to exhaust over stock cast iron manifolds, but when you switch to headers, you might find a huge difference in performance, not necessarily for the good. When you improve exhaust, you also need to improve intake. It takes the right combo of both for an engine to perform properly.

Well Headers are exhaust performance parts! It does upgrade horsepower because more exhaust flow and less back pressure! I would get it! I just put some on my 03'Mustang and put on a dyno before and after and it the put 18 more horsepower to my engine! And it made it sound good with the Flowmaster Thunder Exhaust System I have!

Headers is the part of the engine where the air get in, directed and diverted into the opening of the valves. Air goes to the air intake, then the air box (that muffle sound), then the air filter, then the intake manifold, then the header, then the air is split to the one of the openings of the engine. Superchargers are installed by replacing and/or adding to the headers of the engine. Turbochargers are installed by replacing and/or adding to the "exhaust pipes" (I don't know the mechanical term for that), redirect air to the air intake.
I don't know the cost, but a TRD supercharger cost an estimated of $3000, not including installation.
It does make a difference, but you have to use premium fuel, because of the high compression ratio.

If they are of a quality build they are tubular type exhaust manifolds that are tuned to obtain better performance from an engine.

they are a performance exhaust manifold used to increase horsepower, improve gas mileage, and make it faster for your engine to dump its exhaust. You should expect a SLIGHT horsepower increase on your Tahoe.

exhaust tubing that you put in place of the original cast iron exhaust manifolds...it makes an engine flow more air for higher horsepower
