Aaliyah is a pretty name, but do you want your daughter to always be associated with Aaliyah the singer? What if you spelled it differently? Alia is much simpler and doesn't make you think of a celebrity! Jacob Christopher is a fine name, it's a biblical name so it will never go out of style and no one will ever bother him asking him how to spell or pronounce it. Naming your child a trendy name is bad, but a classic name is great!

Boy name is great... it is cute without being bananas.

Aaliyah is stupid. It worked for the singer since she WAS a singer. It won't work for a seven year old trying to fit in with her classmates.
