This might sound a bit strange, but when my now 37 year old daughter was a baby she was constipated and the pediatrician told me to get a bar of Ivory soap and whittle a little piece of the soap and use it in the babies rectum. This does work. It needs to be tapered with a rounded small end and about 3 1/2 inches long. Make a nob on the larger end so you can hold on to it and pull it out. I think I remember only having to keep it in the rectum 10 to 15 seconds. Try this....I bet it will work and is a more economic way to help the problem.
Good luck with your precious baby.

Give him an ounce of baby prune/apple juice. It is made for babies, and at 6 months, your baby will be able to handle it fine. My son is 3 months old and I gave it to him for constipation and it worked great and he had no problems with it. You could always CALL your doctor's office and ask him if it would be okay. It's better than sitting there all day just so he can tell you if you can give it to him or not.

Mix a little apple juice with water. Give just a small amount to see how the baby reacts to it. Then a small amount more. Don't use full strength and give Baby apple juice not regular off the shelf juice it's too strong.

Check with your doctor about giving your baby a low iron formula, or giving half low iron/half regular formula. Iron is very constipating for babies, but I would not ever recommend switching without checking with your pediatrician first. Good luck!

just prune juice or, you know the Gerber processed baby foods that's prune flavored! or if you have papaya fruits available there that would be a great substitute as well! and of course, lots of water intake..
