My 4 month old doesnt eat in the middle of the night anymore but wakes up and fusses with his eyes closed. All I have to do is put his pacifier back in his mouth and he goes back to sleep. But sometimes it happens 4 or 5 times a night. If i just let him fuss he wakes himself all the way up and gets louder and louder. Should I just let him keep fussing/crying until he falls back to sleep? or is there maybe another reason he is fussing at night and im just soothing it with his pacifier? Or is that all he really wants and i should keep doing it until he grows out of it?

4 months old you should be still doing night feedings. he is spitting out the pacifier because its not giving him any food. then crying to let you know HEY MOM I WANT SOME FOOD!!!!!!!!!!.

try feeding him and bet he will sleep then and not wake up crying all the time.

If he is waking up more often, try feeding him at least once. Don't let him fuss until he wakes himself up. He is too young to sleep through the night. While there are some babies that do, most do not. My 8 month old rarely sleeps through the night yet. Just do whatever you need to comfort him back to sleep. At such a young age, he still should be aeting AT LEAST every 4 hours.

It has been my experience that if you have your baby on a feeding schedule, and you give him/ her a bottle at bedtime with baby cereal such as baby oatmeal with milk, be sure to burp him or her, the infant will sleep through the night until at least 6:00 am.

My daughter is the same way. I got a pacifier clip that attaches to her shirt. She always has it. When he is a little older he will be able to find it for himself.
