Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to install this? It's for a 3.5 V6 99 Chevy Malibu. I have already purchased it but someone told me that if you don't install it correctly you can really mess up your engine. Is that true?? Please help!

Try picking up a Chiltons Guide. You might even find one in your local library. Not sure if they will have one specific to the Malibu, but there would certainly be one for Chevy/GM and you can be sure that manifold and gasket are used widely.

Also, if it helps you'll probably need a torque wrench, and you'll need to know the right torque number. Remember to alternate nuts when you are tightening so as to even out the pressure.

Are you talking about the intake manifold gasket. They are sometimes marked with an arrow to show up or a stamp that says top.
Make sure all the holes line up.
Go to www.autozone.com they have an online manual and photos. Look up a camaro v6, I did not find a Malibu listed.
Your engine maybe 3.1 if its a USpec car.

There are so many ways to "mess up" the engine while changing the intake manifold gasket set that they are to numerous to mention here. Push tube Lengths, proper torque settings and tightening sequences are just a few. The list goes on and on.
Get a good manual, Motors manual is my personal favorite,(A Chilton's manual will do) and follow the directions to the letter.
Best advice: Save a lot of time, potentially a lot of money, get the warranty and just have a professional do it.

Shorty, unless you have the proper tools take it to a muffler shop. The reason being they usually have to torch the bolts off. I do not believe you can mess up the engine but you could have toxic exhaust fumes enter the vehicle and then into your lungs. hope this helps

Be careful to note the correct placement of the intake gaskets. If put on backwards(and they'll fit) the engine will overheat very quickly! :-)=
