the best way to test it is turn the music on, talk in a normal indoor voice to someone across the room, and if they can't understand you without you speaking very loudly, then the music is too loud..i listen to loud music also and i have a 7 month old daughter. she has grown to love music as well and so will your child!
congradulations!

I used to play my music kind of loud to while I was pregnant and then a native quy that I worked with told me that he was always taught that babies can hear and understand things one room away while in womb so I began listening to music quieter, I don't know that if it's true or not but I've learned that the natives that live around me tend to know what they're talking about. Anyway, now I listen to music at about half of what I did before, I just keep it low enough that I am still able to hear any noise that she makes as well.

Babies have extremely sensitive ears, even in the womb. Anything considered loud by you would be extremely loud for the baby. Unless you want to damage the baby's eardrums you should think about decreasing the volume very soon.

If you're sitting next to someone on the sofa, let's say, and you find you have to raise your voice to hold a conversation with that person (who's sitting a foot from you) it's too loud. I don't mean you have to scream at them--raising your voice at all. If you can't talk to someone in a normal tone because the background noise (TV, music, etc.) is drowning out your conversation, then it's too loud.

I think any volume is fine as long as it does not make the baby mad. Just make sure that you can hear your baby should the baby need you for anything. Don't leave the room if you cannot hear the baby. Good luck

I listened to music pretty loud in my car too until I was further along like 6 months or so. I turned it down cause I read in ALL my pregnancy books that they can hear loud music and it can damage their hearing, plus if its anything but classical or slow music it can make them upset!

If you think the music is too loud turn it down. It is pretty obvious to know when the music is too loud.

Use an i-pod to listen to your music, and olny put one earphone, so you can listen to your music very loud and to your baby at the same time.
