I see a lot of media attention about this. I saw a snippet where Mikhail Gorbachef accused him of killing a journalist the other by the same method. I can't see Putin being ousted for this. Am I wrong? Would the UN do anything? Could they?

Nothing whatsoever, unless the Russian Government decided that they wanted to prosecute him (which they won't). I can hardly see the British Government calling for the extradition of the head of state of a friendly power. It's nothing whatsoever to do with the UN. That deals with relationships between states, not individual crimes.

If it proves that Putin is the culprit, the UN could and should convene a tribunal that would try him on murder charges. This is communism coming back in play. The Russian government and KGB have long been experts in this type of espoinage.

Nothing will happen to Putin, even if he admits his involvement. From a legal standpoint, he probably could claim diplomatic immunity. But pragmatically, leaders have killed (many by poisoning) their enemies throughout history, not just recently. Nothing happened to Lenin or Stalin, and nothing will happen to Putin.
