What about driving with an unregistered plate (not stolen car)?

First offense of a suspended license in IL is up to 30 days in jail. second offense is 3 to 5 years. Plus fines, but I'm not sure what they are. Of course those are maximum penalties. If your car is registered, but the tag is expired, it's an non moving violation, which I think is $75, but will be dropped if you renew your tag before your court date. If it is completely unregistered, they will impound the vehicle.

My advice, don't drive on a suspended license. Besides the obvious consequences of possible jail time, you will NEVER EVER get your license back. Bite the bullet and find another way.

This blog post from a lawyer has a good description of the penalties.

whilst your caught your automobile would be towed (you have no longer have been given a DL) & impounded. those costs alongside with yet another cost ticket (might desire to seem) Then that's as much as the decide. detention center time isn't likely yet there's a risk of community provider, alongside with an prolonged suspension & probability of your DL being revoked.

I had three friends go to prison because of it. Seriously, not even lying or anything. The court system is pretty strict here.

I'm not sure, but if you are thinking about doing it, don't. Just take the bus or the taxi. You can handle it.

How about avoiding the issue entirely and OBEYING THE LAW. Is it THAT HARD?
