everyone in the streets (i live in miami) are rude, stores have all the holidays stuff out but the atmosphere does not give me the holiday spirit it has done in the past. is this happening to anyone else. let me know. 2 points for answering. 3 points for the first normal answer with more than 5 words in it.

I agree with you, I don't feel like we are near the holidays at all. I'm in NC, and although Christmas has always been my favorite holiday I just cant get in the spirit. I'm sure it has something to do with getting older, but I've seen plenty of older people in the past that are feeling jolly. Not so much this year. Maybe its a temporary thing, I sure hope so. I'm not sure if we're just all stressed, or if we're becoming so politically correct that Christmas spirit has been outlawed. I'm hoping decorating my apartment a bit will cheer me up. And donating a toy to one of the charity places. I hope you have a merry christmas.

It does seem a little different this year. Everyone I've encountered has been very nice and polite, so that's not a problem. Maybe the dems getting control of major security aspects of this country has made people a little more uneasy. Who knows?

doesn't seem like it was in the past but then the times are changing from the " real reason for the season " towards the commercialization of the merchants competing for the almighty dollar changing the Holiday into the " season to be greedy. '

it could just be the shape the country is in there is so much bad going on its hard for people to get in the spirit. when you are worrid about your brothers and sisters who are at war, or waiting to see if the where terroist will strike next, people are just worrid i think

nothing is different than in previous years. you're just getting older.

well, things are getting incrimentally worse. But mostly it's just that you're getting older and are more busy yourself and notice things more.
