Chances are that you are running a Windows XP system, hopefully Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you go to your programs menu, you should find a certain program that Windows comes with called, "Windows Movie Maker". Basically, import the video into the workspace, and when you go ahead to export the video, you can select how much compression you would like. For Youtube, I would suggest somewhere around the 1.5 Mbps. Then upload your video. If it's still too large, you can compress more without losing too much video quality.
