My sons' decided to clean their turtle tank in the bath tub and poured all of the rocks out into the tub. They couldn't get all of the rocks out, so they tried to was them down the drain. Now the drain is full of rocks. I don't know how to remove the stopper because it doesn't unscrew and can't be pulled off. I tried to use a vacuum attachment but it won't fit under the stopper. Any suggestion?

Try a shop vac or a wet dry vac

I'm not sure how big the gap is between the stopper and the opening, or how big the rocks are, but there is a very handy tool that could help if the opening is big enough. Sorry, but I don't know the name of this tool:

It's snakelike, flexible but with some rigidity, about 2.5 feet long and has a claw-hand at the end that opens and closes. At the other end is a plunger-button that allows you to clutch and release the claw-hand. The claw-hand is about .25 inches wide when closed, and opens to about an inch or so. If the opening's wide enough you could pull the rocks out with it. I got mine at a hardware store, and had to describe it to two people before anybody knew what I was talking about, but I've saved jewelry with it!

I agree with jaggerbomb. Get a very powerful shop-vac. Also, see if the drain stopper has a brand name on it and call Home Depot of a plumbing place and they'll tell you how to remove the stopper. Then it'll be much easier.

there should be a screw in the middle of a drain strainer if you remove the screw you can take the strainer off and vacuum the gravels out. Id this does not work you will have to go under the house and remove the trap and then the gravel will come out

I just hooked my fingers down in mine and twisted till is finally completely came unscrewed. Have a bucket of hot bleach water right next to you though cause all drains are home to little creepy crawlies that latch on to the dirt and grime that doesn't go down but gets trapped. Remember...righty tighty lefty loosey.

you could try using something like a narrow screwdriver or strip of wood and apply a very strong glue to the tip of it, then inserting the tip under the stopper and catching the rocks 1 by 1 with it. it would be time-consuming but might work to get rid of most of them.

A wet-dry shop vac should suck those little rocks up with no problem!
