What would happen? Is there something we could say/do to make them stop?

The last time we tried appeasing a crazy man (Kim Jong ILL) it didn't quite work out.....

Is it in our best intrest to alienate our close ally Israel and appease Iran/Syria? The same Iran whose president is quoted as saying he wants to wipe our close ally Israel off the map?

Do we hug our enemies and say screw our allies now?

There is no use in talking with these people. We make them out to be some powerful entity but they are in fact nothing more than backward nations. There is no need to talk to them. And caving in and sitting down with them while the continue their anti-Sematism and nuclear programs is nothing but showing American weakness

Iran wants a stable Iraq just as much as we do. Iran has their own population problems, and the situation in Iraq does not help them. They've said it themselves. Why else would the prime minister of Iraq travel to Iran so eagerly. They can play a major role in stabilizing Iraq, especially with their influence over the shiite population. They just want a share in the influence over Iraq policies(Not the best thing for us, but FAR better than what is happening now). They would never dare try to take Iraq over however, knowing that U.S. missiles would be up their axx in about point 2. As for Syria it's pretty much the same kind of situation yet on a smaller scale.

It's definitely a s**t sandwhich, but here's the choice:

bring in Iran in Syria and try to stabilize the region through diplomacy
or
watch as Iran/Iraq becomes big Iran.

Which would you prefer?

As I understand this, it's supposed to be a dog and pony show. We have to prove to the world we are willing to talk to them. The report has merit, but this part is a supreme waste of time and effort in my opinion. Syria and Iran want to murder Israelis...that is all.

It just shows there are no good answers to this fiasco. All we can do in this country is learn from the history of the situation and how we got misled by our leaders.
