I am retired but dance 6 evenings a week.

Sequence Dancing is a little like ballroom dancing but everyone does the same steps.

It is still quite lively consisting of Cha Cha Quicksteps Jives
Waltzes, Saunters,Swings,Glides and many more.

This form of dancing could disappear in another generation

I don't know, but how can someone not appreciate those dances? All dances are great... I know some of those you listed... And more... And I'm young... I'm a teenager... But I think that the young generation isn't learning those dances, because some young people are afraid that their friends would think that they are 'nerds' or something like that, if they start taking dance lessons...

I dance ballroom and love it. I tried sequence dance and found it boring and frustrating at times. I think the reason is we are taught different values. In schools, we are taught to be competitive. Sequence dance is cooperative. It is not fun for us because we know we won't get higher social ranking for being cooperative. We only get phrased for being competitive. So we develop more competitive mind set. I'm not trying to judge sequence dancing, I'm just tryign to think why it didn't do it for me.
