I have three friends (female-aged 26) that I always exchange gifts with them. Money is sorta tight this year but I really want to do something for them. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for something I could make for them that is sentimental but inexpensive. And where I could find ideas. Or any other ideas.

Buy dry ingredient for cookies, put it in a pretty jar in layers so it looks pretty. Decorate it with a fabric cover and pretty ribbon. Include on the tag a recipe for finishing the cookies. This will also work with muffin mixes, or hot chocolate. You can buy these in stores already made up for about $25 - $30, but you can make them for $5 - $7.

You could make cookies in a jar? or muffins in a jar? I have seen a lot of gift sets at rather expensive stores that are along this line. All you do is layer all the dry ingredients in a canning jar, or some type of festive container, and attach the recipe as a gift label. I'd find it especially delightful if someone did this for me, and attached a memory of a time where we were together doing something fun, along with the recipe...

This is from the line of homemade goodies, but not. Make a gift basket of things your friends like. IE- get some candles, a coffee mug, put in some coffee bags or tea, depending on which your friend likes. A cheap CD-can find those at walrmart for about a dollar. and some candy. I'm doing that for my mom and sisters, b/c like you, my budget is tight. Wrap it up in tissue paper, maybe their favorite color if possible. I would enjoy this gift and i know that they are. Good luck and happy holidays! :)

Here are a few ideas:

* frame a nice pic of the group of friends
* make a small album for each of the friends, one page detailing things you like about each person or describing their personality
* a folder that has a basic no year calendar to keep track of peoples' birthdays, with a few homemade cards in it
* it depends on what the people like to do.....if they like to cook, you could make them an apron out of some cheaper cloth, or if they like to read you could write them a story
* sometimes it's cute to read stories written and illustrated by kids, you could have some kids write a story, having your friends' names be the main characters
* you could make them a christmas ornament, that way every year they see it, it reminds them of you!
* send them a greeting of kisses inside whisks with the attachment saying, "I WHISK you a merry KISSmas!"
*when I needed a lot of gifts one year, I went to the dollar store and found a small jar that I filled with goodies I also bought at the dollar store, about 2-3 dollars a person and they all loved it, and it didn't look cheap
* cookies/cake/etc. in a jar can cost $5-$7 a person I have some recipes for that.

Gift baskets are nice, If u have a dollar store close by u can get the baskets, candles, ribbons, nicknacks, picture frames for very cheap, or make something homemade, like muffins, bread cookies and put them in a basket wrapped.

Fabric-covered photot album. They are so nice when they are finished. Take a photo album and cover the 2 outsides with batting. Glue the edges of the batting to the inside of the album. Next take fabric and do the same thing. Next, trace the size of the album twice on poster board and cut them out. Glue them to the inside of the album so it coveres the inside covers of the album. Finally, you can decorate the front with ribbon, pictures, etc. Hope this helps. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

I suggest something crafty. It's not that expensive yet it is totally personal. Your local craft store can give you holiday ideas and even help you get started. I don't know if you have a Michael's craft Store near you but that where I would go for ideas. Happy Holidays!

To try and look for crafts to make on the internet is a pain in the neck, so I just sew some cheap fabric toughether and sew a pillowcase, or to make a pillow i stuff the pillowcase with fiberfill stuffing(found at wal-mart/CHEAP).
