Galveston seawall might be a little dead in January.
You can try that and The Strand in Galveston. G-town also has a few nifty historic tours of places like the Moody Mansion and Bishop's Palace. There's also Moody Gardens if you enjoy that type of thing.

In Houston there's plenty to entertain yourself with - try ice skating in the Galleria, the museum district, fine dining at Fogo de Chao or the Aquarium and as historic tours here as well. You can still party if you aren't 21 - you just can't drink. There's plent of clubs in the area if you like that type of scene.

One thing is for sure...stay away from the Johnson Space Center. That place is a dump and not worth the $20 I spent to get in. I was embarrassed as a citizen of this country when I took the tram tour with a group of foreigners the other week. The place is unkempt and filthy. The new museum part is okay, but the Johnson Space Center itself definitely needs some work. Don't go there!!!

The museum district is very nice and cheap. There are several world class museums (Art, Science, and Zoo) all with in walking distance. On Thursdays, the Art Museum is free. The cost of the zoo and science museum is just a few bucks. Pack a luch and have a good time.

Galveston. Bike riding on the seawall. If ya there swing by Moody Gardens. You could get in your car and just drive and find something to do. There are alot of good restaurants around town. There should be places to watch live bands of all types you don't have to be 21 to get into. The zoo is cool just to walk around with each other...

I really like Rice Village

Shopping, dining, pubs...this place has it. And with charm and flair. Everything from the mainstream to the slightly funky. Be sure to visit the old five and dime store. You could get lost for hours in there. Whether you're high-roller diner (Benjy's) or want to take in some great food on a budget (Hungry's) you can find it all here. Uniquely Houston.
