The Philippines is not dumb to just unilaterally postponse it without the urgings and concurrence of the other participating countries. Countries like the USA, Great Britain, Australia, and Japan have issued their travel advisories not to go to Cebu because of the terror threats.
The Pillipines as host country should be the one to announce the postponement.
Wouldn't you care if Indonesia will announce the postponement of the Asean summit in Cebu, Philippines?
I don't think we Cebuanos will allow that.

How the people of the Philippines like intrigue. Everything has to become a mystery. Ever thing has to be a plot. Is it because they are led more by their emotions than their brains.
What if the storm should increase in strength and hit Cebu and some World Leaders were put in danger what would they be saying about the Administration then? I remember not much more than a year ago the Americans were told the storm hitting the Southern United States would not be as bad as it turned out to be. They were told it would hit Galveston, Texas not Louisiana and Alabama. The Government Officials did not evacuate the citizens and look what happened. I would think even if it turns out they over reacted and the storm does not hit it was the best decision to put the summit off a few weeks for it is far better to be safe than sorry.
I guess the people will take to the streets in protest if the storm does not hit Cebu as this seems to be what they do when things do not go the way they think it should.
I can see no reason to be a politicians in the Philippines unless you are corrupt and looking to better yourself, family and friends because you are damned if you do and damned if you don't so what is the point of an honest person trying to become a political leader in the Philippines.

Both storms were considered. of the two, political storm might have been the crucial factor that forced the arroyo administration to forego for the time being the holding of the asean summit in cebu.

Upcoming storm is being blamed.
Three countries have pointed out the possibility of bomb attacks during the summit.
Political unrest would also be playing a major part.
So it can be any of the three above but more than likely a combination of the last two.

Speculations were raised on even if the vacation advisories on terror threats in Cebu and the present political problems in Manila adverse to Arroyo's administration provoked the postponement, yet Ambassador Paynor lower than pressure in common words the elements became responsible. I favor you all secure and sound in CEBU.
