Also, when you have 2 or 3 people playing the same line if one messes up there's a second one there to hit the note to make the song not sound like poopy.

Very simple , because they CAN'T! I've read some interviews and heard all this talk from more than one of these guys and they pretty much say the same thing , "We don't play solos cause thats just self absorbed wanking" - I see right through that. You and i know better , and it's cause they just plain can't play solos.

because each of them are trying to size the others up and the lead singer can't choose because they all might have grown up together and the lead singer doesn't want to hurt any of the guitarist feelings.

because most of the players cant play each of them know a few chords and cover for one another its a shame most have no talent

Because in bands nowadays you have to have Followers and not too many Leaders..........or they just break up after the first hit!!!
