listen up mac, there's nothing worse than a mac, you'll have nothing but troubles with them, their not really compatable with any other computer. I too am an artist, a writer to be precise, but i am still in school and they have issued us laptops, i've had this comp for 2 years now and it works great, it's a gateway, when you order it from gateway, be sure to ask them about the microsoft office package, it has word, excel, frontpage, publisher, info path, outlook, and powerpoint, and they will more than likely put photoshop on there for you if it's not already a basic program for them to install. the link down below should take you to a profile of the laptop and how it rates with everything.

I really liked dealing with Dell when I got my desktop and laptop. They ask you what you'll be using it for, what software you need, if you want a burner in it, price range, etc... And their service is excellent.

That's just my experience, and I've been totally happy with my Dells.
