This week I read in a number of papers that say that conservatives, and republicans are more giving of there time and money to charity, when liberals, and democrats say people need to give more to the poor, yet as we see in this report this week they give the least. Also, I don't want the liberals, and democrates answering and saying, because conservatives have more of the money, because that isn't true. Just look at all the entertainers, sports people, and polaticians, and media types in this country like the Dixi Chicks, Charly Sheen, Operah, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Walters, Juan Williams, Jesse Jackson, John Kerry. Because a majority of them are liberals, and yet they are doing the least to help, yet they are the first to complain about the way the less fortunite are treated. I am conservative, and yet I'm on a fixed income, and yet I volenteer my time, and money when I can to the least fortunite.

You have no idea how much money or time the people you just mentioned donate to charity. You're just bashing them because they are liberal. I know for a fact that Oprah does alot of things for charity. Also, John Kerry & his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, of the Ketchup Hienz's, donate millions to charity every year. So, do some research before you start falsley accusing people of things they aren't guilty of !!!

I wouldn't be so quick to praise conservatives. They have made the richer richer and the poor poorer. We have a huge deficit, yet they want tax cuts. We have a lot of social problems yet they want to cut necessary programs.
Anyway, I volunteer at a food bank every now and then. Lets just say that most of the volunteers are not ardent Bush supporters.

Great question!! and so true. I also have seen those research papers. I too am conservative and volunteer at my church all of the time. My wife runs the food kitchen for both our church and my daughter's elementary school. I have a liberal aquaintance who does nothing but spout how we all need to do something.
A liberal uses their mouth to get other people to do their bidding and this makes them feel good about themselves that something is being done. Conservatives actually does the work themselves.

Liberals think that the job of charity comes from government. Government is their church and our taxes are the offering. One reason they want higher taxes is so they can give more of our money away thus buying them votes to stay in power.
I volunteer my time and money too, freely, and enjoy the groups I am affiliated with and the people I give my time to are happy we are there for them. It's alot more personal then a government check!

Socialist think the "Government" should take care of all people's needs. They still don't understand that governments....any and ALL governments.....don't really do much well at all, particularly take care of people.
