How old is your baby? My son is going through the same thing (3 months). Here is what has been working for me:

1. Make sure to keep him at an angle as much as possible. If you roll a towel and put it under his mattress it will keep his head elevated and help his sinuses drain. Or you can let him sleep in his car seat.

2. Use Vick's Baby Rub (only for 3 mos and up) on his chest, neck, and back -DO NOT put it on their nose.

3. Have him sleep in a room with a humidifier. If he is over 3 months, you can use a little bit of the Vick's vaporizor liquid inhalant. You only need a tiny bit for a young baby. Keep the humidifier somewhere where baby will not be at risk for burns if it is not a cool mist vaporizor. If you do not own one and cannot buy one, sit in the bathroom with the door closed and the shower on full blast and super hot to get it nice and steamy in there.

4. Use a pure saline solution like Simple Saline. Put 1-2 drops in each nostril and rub his nasal passages a little bit. Lift him at an angle to prevent him from choking on the saline. After a few minutes, use a nasal aspirator to remove excess mucous.

Hope your little man feels better!

That's good news... here's some at home tips that can relieve it a little.
1. Buy a cold mist humidifier
2. Elevate his head while he sleeps
3. Use the Johnson vapor bath every night to help clear nasal passages
4. Buy some little noses and a bulb... use it every couple of hours to clear nose (you don't want the drainage causing an ear infection, he might not like it but it's better for him to cry for 3 minutes while your doing that then to cry for 2 weeks)
5. If you feel like you need vicks, put some in some water on the stove, take it to boiling, and then lower heat, keep it on as long as you want.

Good Luck!

i understand what you're dealing with. My 3 a million/2 month old daughter has had a stuffy nostril for a pair of week and that i in simple terms sense terrible. i've got been doing each little thing i will to make it pass away, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it retains coming lower back. If that's no longer undesirable sufficient, I even have strep throat and am so hectic i pass to furnish it to her i've got no longer kissed her in over a week! it is so no longer difficulty-free no longer giving that love which you truly prefer to so undesirable. I make my husband provide her greater kisses for me! don't sense undesirable...i think of it may be extraordinary in case you have been a universal time mom and concept you have been appropriate. all and sundry makes errors, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it would not seem as in case you truly are! you won't be in a position to make a appropriate worldwide on your new child, the superb you're able to do is provide them what they ought to deal with the real worldwide, which contains being uncovered to germs and getting unwell each from time to time. as quickly as your daughter is over this chilly you will sense greater valuable and understand which you will make it with the aid of a no longer difficulty-free time, which will make the subsequent project somewhat much less confusing, it incredibly is the way i seem at it. sturdy success! :)

Just watch him, because congestion in babies could very easily and quickly still turn into pneumonia, or RSV. If he starts to breath from his stomach rather then his chest, or takes more then 40 breaths a min. take him back! make them give him a chest X-ray.

if you dont feel comfortable with that go to another doctor or emergency room. are you in nyc? if so go to st lukes 114th amsterdam by the columbia univ. excellent for babies! dont play around with that. fyi my daughter was misdiagnoised for symptoms and she lost some of her hearing. she doesn't need a hearing aid yet but probaly in the future. she had scarlet fever.

You might want to look into a humidifier for his room. Vicks makes a great one.
