What's Aarp Stand For

You've see what the letters mean. But they as an organization stand for getting as many entitlements, or handouts, for seniors as possible. They stand for big government that tends to damage our economy. In fact, AARP could be regarded as a division of the Democratic party because they are so liberal. So rather than encourage seniors to give to others, such as the needy, when seniors have more time. They emphasize taking from people and the government. It is an incredibly selfish organization that also damages our society. When the President last year tried to get part of social security retiement placed in personal investment accounts, the AARP opposed him. As a result people under 40 years old will have much less in their social security accounts because the accounts will barely grow how they are invested now. And AARP also damaged our economy becaue these accounts could have been invested corporate bonds or some into corporate stocks that would have helped companeis grow as they serve more people. But instead AARP forced government to keep this retirement mony in a pool making a pitiful 3% return.! This is so sad for younger people who could enjoy a much better retirement. AARP spends part of their money supporting liberal politicians who favor more handouts and freebies. This makes our government bigger and more like France, where unemployment is high, the economy is not growing, the debt is huge and the suicide rate is high. AARP is suffocating our country.

AARP
AARP, formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, is the nation's leading organization for people age fifty and older. Founded in 1958 by retired educator Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, it is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association dedicated to shaping and enriching the experience of aging for its members and all Americans. It serves its 32 million members' needs and interests through information and education, research, advocacy, and community services, all of which are provided by a network of local chapters and experienced volunteers throughout the country. Through its publications, web site, and forums, AARP informs members and the public about consumer issues, economic security, work, health, and independent living issues. AARP also engages in legislative, judicial, and consumer advocacy in these areas. It offers members a wide range of special benefits and services, including Modern Maturity magazine and the monthly AARP Bulletin.
