Evolution has made them like that.they have adapted and developed to fly.thats why!!!
btw who would like to walk if one could fly???

You are simply wrong that birds can walk; many birds walk, many (though not all) birds swim.
Why do you think they don't?
Why are you asking this question?

whoa...what? Are you asking why birds fly if they can't swim? Some birds do indeed swim....like ducks and geese.

bird can walk but it doesn't want to walk on this earth cos human beings are cruel they shu'em away , they hit them ,they fly to see how beautiful is every thing from up there from distantace every thing is beautiful but when u get close to it ,it will turn to the ugliest thing in the world, they can swim they swim some times becos birds know the mood of the seaz some times it calms you down but when it's upset tries to slap you as hard as it can ...so that birds know they have to keep themselvs away from some thing which will hurt them.

oh, ok.
it's just the way that God made them, some things were made to do certain things. just like we weren't made to fly (without an airplane, or live underwater). we're all unique.
