I have been a mom for 27 years and a daycare provider for 20 years. I have had this happen to me a few times. You only turn your back for a second and that baby who has never rolled over before seems to choose that moment to practice that skill for the first time. It really scares the heck out of you and the baby and you both do some crying, but she will be fine. Watch her carefully for any unusual behaviors such as crying if you move an arm or leg or sleeping excessively or has changes in her eating habits. Babies have very soft bones and rarely break anything. You know your baby best and if you think you need to have her checked out at the doctor, they will understand. I am sure it won't be the first time they've checked out a baby who feel off the couch or a bed or the changing table.

As long as they calm down in a few minutes and do not have any obvious cuts or bruises they should be fine. Babies have flexible joints and lots of good padding. Pay close attention and if there is some indication of further problems take him/her to a doctor. Or to be on safe side Call your pediatrician. The doctor will tell you if the baby needs to be seen of what to watch for.

I'm sure she'll be fine but make sure you don't put her in a position where that can happen again. Unattended babies only need a second for something like that to happen. Accidents happens. Just be thankful she wasn't in her carseat or something and sitting on the table or car where she could have really been hurt in a fall.

Get her to a Doctor NOW!!!!!!! What are you doing leaving your child unatteded on the sofa for. As you should know the neck muscles are not very strong yet and there could be damage from the fall.

As an paramedic, for safety, take your child to the doctor. Just because he/she quit crying doesnt really mean everything is fine. It is better to know for sure than to be left with a question of unknown.
Good luck.

That young should definatly get checked out by the doctor, she is most likely fine, but at that age they can't tell you if anything is wrong so i would bring her just for a check

What did she hit when she fell? Did she fall on her head? Her arm? Did she hurt herself? There's no way to answer this question without more specifics.

You must not let her go to sleep. Keep her awake for the day...and go to the clinic or emerg. room to have her checked out. Accidents can happen, don't panic, just make sure she's okay...
My daughter fell off the couch at about 20 months, and she had a nice bump. I called the medical hotline for advice. They were fabulous, told me what to look out for, and how long to keep her awake. Try looking in your phone book for a number in your area.

2 months is pretty young for a fall. You should call your pediatrician and talk to them. They will probably want you to take in your child just to be sure everything is OK.

Did she hit anything hard, or just the carpet?
Most likely she's okay, it always amazed me, but those little heads are tough. Is there a bump?
Keep your eye on her, see that she remains alert, if not you've got to get her checked. Good luck...
