Depends. If you want to spend money, try wal-mart. Four year olds like to feel in control of things so try puzzles, building blocks, large Lego's(still at an age where they can choke on stuff), toy cars, Don't break the ice, Ants in the pants, hungry hippos,etc. If you want party games try pinatas, duck ponds, pin the tail on the donkey, balloon popping(by sitting on them- almost always a big hit)etc..

if you want a shop bought game that the whole family can enjoy including the 4 year old try things like hungry hippos, or pop up pirate ect. kids love these games

I bought my nieces Disney Trivial Pursuit and they love it. And finally a way of them building on all that vapid Disney knowledge they've accumulated over years of watching Jungle Book.

my kids loved this one. . .Get an old clotheshorse or barrier,put them behind it and tell them it is a zoo. Every now and then throw them a sweet. It kept mine happy for hours,and they grew up to be normal.
