In the short term I get exercise to work off my anger, When tired I retreat to my books not the easy ones ,books that take total concentration to read. I adore reading!

If you don't suffer from an attention deficit disorder, which can be diagnosed even in adults with the help of a doctor or therapist, then here's something to think about. In Buddhist philosophy, anger always require a target or a raison d'etre. Whenever one feels anger, it involves something or somebody else.
Boredom fuels anger. Don't wait to find or get a hobby; get out and, start walking or running for no reason other than to work off the build-up of toxic, anger-fuelling chemicals in your body.

you know, i really hate it when people come on here and say "dont ask random people how to deal with it"..thats what these things are for. as far as your question, there are so many ways you can deal with your anger..when you are angry with someone practice breathing techniques, walk away, ask them why they are yelling at you in the first place, because there is no need in it. when you are just sitting alone and you are thinking about all of these things that are pissing u off....read, go on the computer, go for a walk with your headset on and jam to some of your favorite music...anything that can take your mind off of what you are thinking about. music is very theraputic...and dont listeen to "break stuff" lol, just some happy go lucky something or another that has nothing to do with life! good luck

I deal with my anger & rage by keeping it within myself, & using it to do things with my life. Like working around the house or using it to complete a major task. It is almost like when turning water power into electricity, you're simply turning you're anger/rage into energy. Having grown up with seeing my father take his anger out on my mom, I decided that I would find out a different way to outlet my anger. And this was my solution. I don't know if this helps you out or not, but it works for me.

Try this...
Use your bed. Picture all the people that hurt you in any way you wish you could address. Picture them and kick the crap out of the bed. Yell at them, tell them all the things you wish you had said or would have the nerve to say.
It sounds silly but it is really freeing... try it! Anything that comes up from those relationships, yell it out, punch it out...
You may still have anger and need to address it with them personally.
Then, forgive and move on!!!
Peace,

I have said the same prayer every morning now for a week and it has been working! Essentially, I ask for God's help to ensure that all people I meet, leave me in a better mood than when they first meet me. This goes for everyday conversations with the same people. I have not had one altercation with anybody as I remember my morning prayer.
